Obituary

Services for Moye O'Neal Strickland, age 68, of Dublin, will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. Mr. Mike Kilgore, Rev. Rusty Stewart, Mr. Bert Bethea, and Rev. Robert Rogers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2015 at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Strickland died Thursday, April 2, 2015. Mr. Strickland, a lifelong resident of Laurens County, was a U. S. Army veteran. He retired from Oconee EMC and served as a deacon at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. Mr. Strickland was a devoted husband, father, Poppy, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Strickland, Sr., and Carrie O'Neal Strickland, brothers, James Strickland, W. L. Strickland, Russell Strickland, Billy Strickland, Robert Strickland, and sisters, Nell Maddox, and Pet Baggett. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hall Strickland; children, Melissa (Nate) Smith, Carrie Albritton, Ryan (Charity) Strickland, all of Dublin; grandchildren, Katelee Albritton, Jarrett Albritton, Brock Morgan, Brewer Morgan, Bryson Morgan, Sawyer Strickland, Sam Porrata, Lucy Porrata, all of Dublin; sisters, Joanne (Tim) Luecke, Nannette Kimbell, Becky White, Martha Tanner; sisters-in-law, Mabon Strickland, Carolyn Strickland, both of Dublin; several nieces and nephews. Archie Heath, Larry Mullis, Tim Howard, Jeremy Payne, Keith Brantley, Benjamin Strickland, Stan Hall, and Cole Raffield will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his coworkers at Oconee EMC
