Services for Myrtis L. Durden, age 94 of Roswell, formerly of Dublin, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 2, 2013 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Paul Wilkes will officiate. She passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Mrs. Durden was born in Laurens County to the late Otis and Anna Sumner Tomlinson. She was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and former member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Durden and two sons, Joe and Bill Durden. Survivors include her daughter, Shelley P. McCown of Roswell; grandchildren, Stephanie Calloway of Lilburn, Stacey McCown Hill (Ed) of Roswell, Sherri Markham of Canton and Shannon McCown of Roswell; great-grandchildren, Billy Calloway, Stephen Calloway, Megan Calloway and Harrison Markham. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00AM until funeral service.
