Nancy Thelma Smith, of Pelham, formally of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Mrs. Smith was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 8, 1934 to the late William Nyeholt and Rena Vandersee Nyeholt. Mrs. Smith was a retired paraprofessional for the Laurens County Board of Education. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dublin where she taught Sunday school. She was also an avid reader, a great cook, and founder of Agape Ministry Child Evangelism.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Smith; brothers, Raymond Nyeholt and Harold Nyeholt; and sister, Phyllis Nyeholt Roorda.

Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Smith Tillman (Donald), of Hillsboro; son, Tim Smith (Jenni), of Pelham; grandchildren, Jason Tillman (Missy), Rebekah Zech (Chase), Sydnee Smith, and Callie Smith; great-grandchildren, Ansley Tillman, Addison Tillman, Eowyn Tillman, Eden Tillman, Zoey Zech, and Wylie Zech as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dexter, Georgia, at 2pm. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate.
