Services for Nellie B. Strickland, age 83, of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Robert Rogers, Rev. Lock Wilford, and Rev. James Hughes will officiate. Mrs. Strickland died Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Baggett and the late Alma Thomas Baggett and was born and raised in the Rentz area. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. She retired from West Laurens High School after serving twenty years as a school food service worker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Strickland was predeceased by her husband W. L. Strickland and eleven brothers and sisters. Survivors include her sons, Eddie (Brenda) Strickland, of Dublin, Mike (Lynette) Strickland, of East Dublin, and Danny (Denise) Strickland, of Dexter; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law, and close friends. Chris Strickland, Archie Heath, Donald Alligood, Chad Payne, Ferrell Baggett, Jeffery Baggett, Nathan Hance, Tracy Strickland, and Tommy Willingham will serve as pallbearers. The members of the Joy Sunday School Class of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church will serve as honorary escort. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the church.
