Orgenola Barfoot, 86, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro. Mrs. Barfoot was a life-long resident of Laurens county until 2011 when she went to live with her daughter in Long County. She was born November 17, 1926 in Cadwell to parents Thomas Elijah & Reba M (Martin) Warren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Daniels, Luree Barnes, Wonell Brown, Mildred Dominy & Billie Joe Foskey; husbands Harrell Thompson and Robert Barfoot; son James Thompson, and great-grandson, Joshua Kaleb Thompson. Mrs. Barfoot was a long-time and very active member of Poplar Spring North Baptist Church of Dublin. She is survived by daughters, Carleen (Wade) Bracewell of Dublin and Carolyn (Rick) Barney of Glennville; grandchildren Carol Thompson of Wrightsville, Danny (Dionne) Thompson of Fort Worth, TX, Todd (Tiffany) Beasley of Macon, Michele (John) Leonard of Alexandria, VA, Mark Lusher of Longmont, CO; sisters Myron (Edward) Anderson of Jacksonville and Virginia (J.D. Jr) Gore of Wilmington, NC; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. with funeral at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 in Townsend Brothers Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens in Dublin with Brother Mike Jones and Brother Robert Rogers officiating. Pallbearers are Todd Beasley, Edward Foskey, Benjamin Strickland, Jeff White, Kelly Harold, and Ira Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of the Poplar Spring North Baptist Church. Most recently she has enjoyed attending Pigott Baptist Church near Glennville, Ga.
