Mrs. Paula Duke Raymer, 77, of Dublin, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Paula was the daughter of the late Paul Edward Duke and Zubie McKinley Duke. She was married to the late Peter Moses Raymer, Jr., and they resided in Dublin. Paula is survived by two children: Paula Graham Raymer (Ramiro M. Mendoza), of Dublin; and Peter Moses Raymer, III (Dana), of Dublin. She is also survived by one beautiful granddaughter, McKinley Reece Raymer, of Dublin. At age 14, Paula became a lifeguard for the City of Dublin, where she also taught swimming lessons. She was a cheerleader and member of the tennis team, at Dublin High School, where she was also a graduate. She received a Bachelor of Science from Stetson University, in Deland Florida, and a Masters degree from The University of Tennessee. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and was Queen of the Zeta Tau Alpha Water Ballet. She was also a Delta Sigma Phi Sweetheart. Paula directed the water ballet for the opening of the first Dublin Country Club swimming pool. Paula was an Honorary Member of Thespian Troupe 669 and was President of The Dublin Girl's Cotillion Club. She taught Health and Physical Education at Dublin Junior High School, Dublin High School, and Middle Georgia College. Paula grew up attending First United Methodist Church of Dublin. "To my precious family, friends, and students; I hope I have given you all, as much as you have given to me."-Paula Pallbearers will be Macon Core, Dub Tanner, John Strickland, Leon Green, Dr. J. Roy Rowland, Dr. Jim Kibler, Shellie Stroman, and Travis Davis. Visitation will be held at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, on Friday, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m., with graveside services following, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Jack Key will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Memory of Paula Raymer, to Serenity Foundation, at Serenity Hospice Care, 510 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021.
