Obituary

C T "Pete" Durden was welcomed into his heavenly home on Thursday, November 22nd. He was raised in Emanuel County but had lived in Laurens County for more than 30 years. Services will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Rowland and Pastor Steve Kyzer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gay Cemetery. Pete was known far and wide as an accomplished musician. He humbly shared his love for his Savior as he played his guitar and banjo, sang, and preached God's Word. He still served his Lord as he faithfully prayed for others every day. He is survived by his loving wife, Isabell W. Durden of East Dublin; a daughter, Linda Powell of Dublin; sons, Kenneth Kersey of Vidalia, Johnny Kersey of Adrian, and Robert Kersey of Norristown; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Jeff, Mark, and BJ; great-grandchildren, Grant, Lexi, Madison, Gabby, Britney, Makinley, and Skylar; a sister, Sybil Curl of Swainsboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Wilbur Durden of Swainsboro. The family wishes to thank their friends from Three Rivers Home Health and Bass Therapy for the care they've given our parents over the last few years. Visitation will at 403 Broad Street in East Dublin on Saturday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM
