Preston Tyson, age 85, of Dublin, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. Mr. Tyson was born in Kite, Georgia to the late Joe and Curlie Powell Tyson. He was retired from Oxford Industries and also worked with the Laurens County School System as a bus driver. Preston was a member of Oconee Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jones; son-in-law, Bill V. Sumner; brothers, J.C. Tyson, Wiley Tyson, and Robert Tyson and sisters, Eva Nobles and Mary Flanders. Survivors include his wife, Sadie Ivey Tyson, of Dublin; daughter, Natalie Tyson Sumner, of Adrian; granddaughter, Roseanne Crosslin (Scott), of Dublin; grandson, Nathan Dudley (Heather), of Macon; great-grandson, Scottie Crosslin, of Dublin; great-granddaughters, Raegan Crosslin, of Dublin, and Elisabeth Dudley and Rebekah Dudley, both of Macon; brother, Earnest Tyson (Elizabeth), of Dublin; sisters, Gladys Page, of Swainsboro and Alma Brantley, of Soperton; son-in-law, John Jones, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carter's Chapel Church Cemetery. Rev. L.T. Logue and Rev. Henry Dixon will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Terry Tyson, Paul Tyson, Ivey Woodard, Earl Bracewell, Homer Garnto, and Greg Glover.
