Services for Ray Howell, age, 68, of Dublin, will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Danny Edwards will officiate. Mr. Howell was the son of the late John Wesley Howell and the late Hessie Lee Heath Howell and lived most of his life in Laurens County. He was a United States Navy veteran. Mr. Howell retired from Cullen Supply where he worked as a lawnmower mechanic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Gwendolyn Sandra Howell, and Beunice Wood Howell, and his brother, Marcell Howell. Mr. Howell died Friday, June 15, 2012. Survivors include Barbara Lucas, who honored him in love and life, of Dublin; daughters, Sheila May, of East Dublin, and Teresa Carter, of Milledgeville; brothers and sisters, Charles W. Howell, of Sandersville, Evelyn Johnson, of Wrightsville, and Johnny Howell, of Dublin; four grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Jessica Christian, Casey Carter, and Matt Carter; five great grandchildren, C J Allen, Cody Allen, Cayleigh Allen, Dylan Christian, and Cole Christian; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
