Services for Ray Curtis Taylor, age 82 of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Minter Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ben Edwards and Rev. Ronnie Powell will officiate. He passed away on August 6, 2014. Mr. Taylor was born to the late George Curtis Taylor and the late Eva Mae Holt Taylor. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member of Minter Baptist Church and retired from Mohawk. In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, James Clifford Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Mavis Taylor of East Dublin; son, Curtis Taylor (Lynn) of Swainsboro; daughter, Nancy Young (Tim) of Ivey; grandchildren, John Young (Heather), Ray C. Taylor (Christy), Jennifer Lake (Billy), James Taylor (Brittany), Heather Massey and Haley Taylor; step-daughter, Gail S. Johnson (Herman) of East Dublin; step-son, Billy Snow of Easy Dublin; step-grandchildren, Ivan Johnson, Marcia Lynn Watkins (Andy) and Victor Johnson (Katie) and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ivan Johnson, Victor Johnson, James Taylor, Ray C. Taylor, Vicky Thigpen and Gene Stewart. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
