Services for Richard C. Evans, age 88 of Rentz, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Rev. Billy Todd and Rev. Monty Lassiter will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Evans died Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Mr. Evans was a United States veteran of World War II and Korean War. He retired from Rentz Cabinet Shop and was a member of Woodman of the World. Mr. Evans enjoyed fishing and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Robert Evans and Ethel Bedingfield Evans, and brother, Roy Jackson Evans. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn P. Evans, of Rentz; step-children, Earl (Kathy) Sapp, of Dublin, Ritchie Sapp, of Rentz, Joe Adams, Ronnie Adams, Jack (Paula) Adams, Greg (Denise) Adams, all of Montrose, Emory (Angie) Adams, of Dublin, Sharon Green, of East Dublin, Denise (Donnie) Mullis, of Rentz; sisters, Betty Edge, of East Dublin, Anita (Walt) Young, of Thomson, Grace (Richard) Ballard, of Barnesville; brothers, Ray (Joan) Evans, James (Deborah) Evans, David (Sue) Evans, all of Rentz, Prentice (Marilyn) Evans, of Macon; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great great-grancdchildren. Step-sons will serve as pallbearers.
