Services for Richard Curtis Houck, age 70 of East Dublin will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Houck passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015.
Richard Curtis Houck was born in Dayton Ohio and was the son of the late Bernard Houck and the late Esther Houck. In addition to being a devoted husband of 47 years and loving father and grandfather, he had a fulfilling life working overseas, working as a supervisor at Engelhard, and finally retiring from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association of Dublin.
Survivors include his wife, who was also his high school sweetheart, Jane Houck of East Dublin, daughters; Kellie (Ben) Johnson of Ellijay, Brandi (Stephen) Purser of East Dublin, grandchildren; Preston McGowan, Aleck McGowan, Baylee Purser, Jaycee Purser, and Savana Johnson, brother Gary (Michelle) Houck of Gulfport, MS.
Merle Doan, Shane McGowan, Michael Faircloth, Ben Johnson, Stephen Purser and Richard Andrews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021, who took great care of him in his last days at Serenity Place.
