Richard Newton (Dickey) Roberts, age 73, of East Dublin, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Services will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Matt Haywood will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Harvey, Shawn Maddox, Keith Phillips, Marcus Taylor, Jordy Fordham, Glenn Fordham, and Dean Fordham. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He retired from YKK where he worked as a supervisor. Dickey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Newton Roberts; mother, Ester Bernice Sappenfield Roberts; son-in-law, Zane Fordham, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Maddox. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Annette Roberts, of East Dublin; daughter, Elizabeth Annette Fordham, of East Dublin; son, Jimmy H. Maddox, Jr. (Jennie), of Rentz; mother-in-law, Mama Gray; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.
