Rita Mullis Alligood, age 77, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Mrs. Alligood was born in Cadwell, Georgia to the late Woodrow Mullis and Thannie Bedingfield Mullis on January 9, 1945. She was a homemaker, treating everyone like family and became the community mother. We're going to miss your phone calls and your sweet voice. You loved us unconditional and had the biggest heart of anyone we know. Your selfless acts of kindness were felt by anyone who was lucky enough to know you. We love you and know you are in a much better place.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alligood is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Dewayne Alligood, daughter, Tammy Alligood, and son, Kenneth Alligood.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Alligood; grandchildren, Lacey (Scott) Warren, Gregory (Jeanie) Thomas, Dillion Wolf, Dallas Fulghum, and Kenzie Alligood as well as nine great-grandchildren; brother, Donnie (Denise) Mullis, sisters, Bonnie (Denard) Alligood and Mildred Page; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, December 23, 2022at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Townsend Funeral Home. Family will accept friends and family at 1:00pm Friday, December 23, 2022 at Townsend Funeral Home before the service. Interment will follow at Alligood Cemetery in Dexter, Georgia.
