Robbie Lee Day, age 77, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016.

Services will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Beulah Baptist Church in Wheeler County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 6:00PM on Sunday afternoon at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sistrunk, Scott Melton, Jim Wilkes, Helmon Moorman, David Fountain and Joe Dobbins. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Melton, Larry Avery, Stanton Evans, Ricky Melton, James Turner, Don Avery, Jeff Foskey, Ronnie Mallette and Billy Wood.

Mr. Day was a graduate of Lowery High School and a member of the United States Army Reserve, serving from 1960 until 1966. He retired from the state of Georgia as a supervisor with the Department of Motor Transportation. He was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a huge Bluegrass music fan.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Elma Bracewell Day, and brother, Randolph Day.

Survivors include his wife, Alegra "Al" Day, of Glenwood; daughters, Dawn Day Sistrunk (Ronnie), of Glenwood, Robyn Day, of New York, and April Day, of Lyons; granddaughter, Leigh Ivey, of Mt. Vernon, and grandson, Dayton Wilkes, of Brewton.
