Services for Robbie David (Buddy) Sawyer, age 70, of Dexter, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 28, 2017, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Buckhorn United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Sirmons will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Mr. Sawyer died Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

Mr. Sawyer was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed working outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Sawyer was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee "Bob" and Arl Vustus Dixon Sawyer, and daughter, Lisa Sawyer.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara "Jean" Sirmons Sawyer, of Dexter; children, Celisca Sawyer, Nicole (Steve) Spires, both of Dublin, Tammy (Jason) Greer, of Columbia, SC, and Shawn (Sandra) Hattaway, of Cochran; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Janice (Larry) Poole, Jane Daniel, Pam (Don) Gay, all of Dublin; brother, Jimmy (Teresa) Sawyer, of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.

David Kersey, Jimmy Smith, Rob Sawyer, Chris Howell, Adam Gay, and Wesley Sirmons will serve as pallbearers.
