Services for Robert "Bob" Cox, age 73, of Glenwood will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bracewell Cemetery. Rev. Nolon McDaniel officiated. Mr. Cox died Saturday, July 9, 2011. Mr. Cox was the son of the late James O. Ward and the late Maggie Lou Cox Ward. He was the grandson of the late John Bryant Cox and the late Sara Jane Cox. Mr. Cox was predeceased by a sister, Lois Cooper, of Macon. Mr. Cox was an administrator, retired, with the Army Reserve in Dublin and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa (Randy) Hampton, of Montrose; grandchildren, Segan and Gant Hampton of Montrose; and sisters, Janie (Cecil) NeSmith, of Gray, and Kathy (James) Lynn, of Brewton; and a brother-in-law, Ray Cooper, of Macon. Joey Hulett, Clem Burns, Keith Oliver, Alan Smith, Bobby Couey, Billy Wood, and Alan Green served as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Sunday, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Townsend Brothers Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Cox's honor to Bracewell Cemetery Fund; Morris Bank, Dublin, GA 31021.
