Robert E. (Ed) Dominey, age 90, of Augusta, formerly of Dublin, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017. Mr. Dominey was born in Buckeye to the late Eulia Argene Dominy and Alma Morgan Dominy and raised in Dublin, GA. He graduated from Dublin High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1945. He served as a US Navy pilot from 1946 to 1961. He served as an USAF, MAC pilot from 1961 until 1966 and was stationed at Donaldson AFB in Greenville, SC and Hunter AFB, in Savannah, GA. Mr. Dominey left active duty and entered the civil services and worked as an accountant until his retirement in 1987 in Enterprise, AL. He and his wife, Lonnette, moved to Dublin in 2005. They then relocated to Augusta, GA to be cared for by their son, daughter, and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Brigham Dominy, E.A. Dominey, and Sara Dominey Flanders. Survivors include his wife, Lonnette, of Augusta; son, Robert E. Dominey, Jr., of Augusta; and daughter, Anne Dominey Behna of Clifton, VA. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Deacon Greg Bernard will officiate.
