Services for Robert Earl Sutton, age 74, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Curtis Warnock and Rev. Hugh Spivey will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Mr. Sutton passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Fairview Park Hospital following a short illness.

Robert Earl was born to Earl and Evelyn Smith Sutton on December 4, 1942 in Wrightsville. Robert bought and paid for his first bulldozer in 1967 and formed Sutton Construction, that later became Middle Georgia Road Builders and Developers. He truly mastered the art of pond building and his knowledge and wisdom of earth moving and building will be truly missed. Robert was a giant of a kind man with a big heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and an infant son.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Warnock Sutton; son, Claude (Robyn) Sutton; daughter, Christy Sutton; grandchildren, Megan (Brandon) Hayes, Halee (Zack) Farthing, Katie Sutton, and Ashley Sutton; great grandchildren, Boone Hayes and Waylon and Payton Farthing; sisters, Roselyn (Hugh) Smith, Flossie (Hodges) Veal, and Vickie Denise Sutton; brother, Jimmy (Patsy) Sutton, sisters-in-law, Donnie (Thomas) Slade, and Marlyn Rogers; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, that loved him dearly.

David Warnock, Randall Warnock, Alvin Johnson, Alex Monroe, Tony Slade, Kirk Lewis, Tim Spivey, and Jason Blizzard will serve as pallbearers.
