Services for Robert E. (Bob) Woods, age 80, of East Dublin, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Brewton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Alan Wiggins and Rev. Wayne Durden will officiate. Mr. Woods died Friday, December 21, 2012. Mr. Woods was the son of the late Clyde Eugene Woods and the late Annie Mae Hutcheson Woods. He graduated from Cedartown High School and from UGA with a Masters Degree. Mr. Woods was a US Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member and deacon of Brewton Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir and teaching Sunday School for many years. Mr. Woods was also a long time member of the Laurens County Farm Bureau. In addition to his parents, Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Henry Burger. Survivors include his wife, Frances H. Woods, of East Dublin, GA; children, Robbie (Terry) Ferrell, of Ft. Irwin, CA; Linda (Donnie) Youmans, of Evans, GA; David Woods, of East Dublin, GA; Katie (Sam) Andrews, of Cadwell, GA; grandchildren, Amanda (Bear) Grant, of Grovetown, GA; Matthew Youmans, of New York, NY; Loren Woods and Lily Woods, both of East Dublin, GA; Zach Andrews, Seth Andrews, and Sara Andrews, all of Cadwell, GA; and great grandsons, Peyton Grant, and Cooper Grant, both of Grovetown, GA. Matthew Youmans, Zach Andrews, Seth Andrews, Bear Grant, Sandy Kyzer, and Jake Kyzer will serve as pallbearers. The Deacons and members of the Men's Sunday School Class of Brewton Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons or to Brewton Baptist Church.
