Roger Edward Horton, age 70, of Dublin went to his heavenly home on August 14, 2021.

Mr. Horton was born in Hazlehurst on April 24, 1951 to Mr. Wallace Edward Horton and Mrs. Bonnell Johns Horton. He was a retired Equipment Operator of 37 years for W.F. Jackson Construction.  His greatest love in life was his family especially his grandchildren. He also loved bowling, billiards, and playing chess. Mr. Horton was the owner of HTS- Horton Transportation Systems and also a member of Day Springs Baptist Church in East Dublin. As a father, husband, brother, he will be truly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bonnell Horton, sister Gloria Rash, and brothers Bobby and Billy Horton.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Horton of Dublin, daughter, Dawn Horton Helms of Dublin, sons, Roger Derek Horton (Nikki) of Dexter, Brandon Horton (Katie) of Dublin, brother, Carl Horton (Sandra) of East Dublin, and sister Debra Davis of Dublin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Justin Helms, Emily Helms, Pacey Horton, Garrett Horton, Madison Horton, Abigail Horton, and Keller Horton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Horton will be held at 11:00 A.M.,Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial following at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tim Powell, Rev. Ronnie Powell, and Rev. Clint Sellers will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until funeral hour.

Pallbearers will be Clint Sellers, Nick Luecke, Henry Lowman, Cameron Horton, David Anderson and Ricky Wynn.
