Ronald Eugene Cox, age 59, of East Dublin, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. Services for Ronnie will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church. Rev. Tommy Veal and Rev. Judd Drake will officiate. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mr. Cox served in the US Navy for 7 years. He was a member of Gethsemane UMC where he taught Sunday School and lead the choir for many years. Ronnie was a 1975 Graduate of East Laurens High School and was a floral designer in the family business for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eugene Cox; brother, Tommy Cox, and granddaughter, Autumn Lumley. Survivors include his daughters; Racheal (Shawn) Lumley of St. Augustine, FL, Danielle Cox of Macon, Savannah (Matt) Haworth of Augusta, and Shelby Cox of Piedras Negras, MX, mother; Carolyn Cox of East Dublin, sister; Debra (Tommy) Shepard of East Dublin, brother; Jimmy (Sandy) Cox of Dublin, 8 grandchildren. Shawn Lumley, Charlie Cox, Matt Haworth, Thomas Cox, Ben Wheeler, Jody Phillips, and Ben Shepard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gethsemane Choir Members, the Men's Club and the Apostles Sunday School Class.
