Mrs. Ruby Nell Ussery, age 89, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at her home following an extended illness surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Ussery was born April 5, 1933 in Lyons, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Randall McGahee and Addie McDaniel McGahee; her husband, Cleveland Ussery; a daughter, Margaret Claxton; and her siblings, Olan McGahee, Hubert McGahee, William McGahee, Lewis McGahee, Jane McNamara, R.J. McGahee, Henry McGahee and James McGahee.

She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her Koi pond. She was a deveoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Tonda Mullis of Dublin; her grandchildren, Carl (Angie) Claxton, Jr. of Wrightsville, Sean (Laura) Claxton of Dublin, Conrey (Angie) Claxton of Dublin, Marty Claxton of Watkinsville, Shannon Payne of Bonaire and Cody Payne of Chester. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Dublin Memorial Gardens with Bishop Corey Danner officiating.

Pallbearers will be Carl Claxton, Conrey Claxton, Cody Payne and Steve Ussery.
