Graveside services for Ruth Savage, age 79 of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the Pleasant Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steven Kyzer will officiate. Mrs. Savage was born in Laurens County to the late Leonard and Ruby Graham Tanner. She retired from Forstmann and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Savage and brother, Jack Tanner. Mrs. Savage passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. She is survived by her children, Cathy Sweat of East Dublin, son, Joey (Joanette) Savage of Dexter, Van (Sissy) Savage of Dublin and Susan Mullis of Cedar Grove; brother, Marvin (Carol) Tanner of East Dublin; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Justin Savage, Ryan Savage, Zack Mullis, Ty Mullis, Derek Gilbert and Earl Sapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Johnny Webb, Len Tanner, Bennie Bridges, Andy Sellers, Grable Tanner, Mike Tanner and Randy Nix. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30PM until 7:30PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. They may also be contacted at the home of Van and Sissy Savage, 1360 Wade Hampton Road, Dublin.
