Sallie Scarbrough Wilkes, age 91, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Wilkes was born on May 24, 1932, in Covena, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Newton and Bessie Brinson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin and a loving mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wilkes; father of her children, William Freeman Scarbrough; son, Gerald Scarbrough; daughter, Margie Dasher; granddaughter, Tracie Canady; sister, Mary Catherine Churchwell, and brother, John Lee Brinson.
Survivors include her son, Mike Scarbrough (Debbie) of East Dublin; son-in-law, Jerry Dasher of Dublin; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Scarbrough of East Dublin; grandson, Mark Dasher (Nona) of Dublin; granddaughters, Sarah Marlin (Jason) of Kirksville, MO, and Paula Mimbs of East Dublin; great-grandchildren: Taylor Mimbs, Ryan Mimbs, Kaden Mimbs, Madison Canady, Maci Canady, Cooper Dasher, Riley Dasher, Jack Marlin, Max Marlin, Gray Marlin, Maggie Marlin, Knox Marlin, and Annie Marlin, and great-great grandson, Jack Hood.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 23, 2023, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jason Marlin will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Dasher, Mark Dasher, Cooper Dasher, Jack Marlin, Max Marlin, Ryan Mimbs, and Kaden Mimbs.
The family would like to thank Georgia Hospice Care for their kindness and care during this difficult time. They would also like to thank her caretakers: Vernell Pittman, Mary Lowther, Sherrie Sellers, Julie Poole, Sandy Tarpley, and Sam Sabra for their love and compassionate care.
