Services for Sammy "Buddy" Ricks, Jr. , age 59, of Adrian will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ricks Family Cemetery. Rev. Jim Yeomans and Rev. Tim Mock will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. He died Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Mr. Ricks, who loved to ride, was a retired fire fighter with East Dublin and attended Tweed Chapel Church of God. His family meant a lot and he was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Ricks was preceded in death sister-in-law, Kathy Ricks. Survivors include children, Timmy (Trina) Ricks, of Adrian, Melinda (Doug) Jones, of East Dublin, Sammy (Jill) Ricks, of Dublin, Nick (Britney) Ricks, of Adrian, and Sarah (Hein) Pham, of Eastman; father, Sammy Ricks, Sr., of Adrian; mother, Hazel Martin, of East Dublin; brothers and sisters, Allen Ricks, Terry Ricks, both of East Dublin, Gail Pritchett, of High Falls, Dennis Shepard, Jerry Ricks, both of Wrightsville, and Pam Ricks, of Adrian; grandchildren, Kenny (Callie) Ricks, Courtney (Coty) Edge, Kellie (CJ) Hinson, Mickey Ricks, Eric Ricks, Britny King, Tyler Silvers, Crystal Morris, Easton Jones, Meranda Jones, Brylie Jones, Justin Ricks, Caleb Collins, Jackson Pham; and four great grandchildren. Ricky Bell, Dennis Johnson, T. J. Ricks, Brian Hartley, Wesley Johnson, and Ron Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
