Services for Samuel Perry Allen, age 72, of Dudley, will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Dudley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Bleckley County. Rev. Ed Ellington will officiate. Mr. Allen was a member of Dudley United Methodist Church and was retired from Forstmann. A retired farmer, he loved gardening and was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Allen; mother, Annette Daniel Allen; and two brothers, Preston Allen and Andrew Allen. Mr. Allen passed away on Saturday, June 15 at Dublinaire Nursing Home after an extended illness. He is survived by six brothers, Jackie Allen of Dublin, Joe (Gail) Allen of Dublin, Laymond (Johnnie) Allen of Dublin, Glenn (Linda) Allen of Dudley, Willard (Ruth) Allen of Stockbridge, and Ronnie (Margie) Allen of East Point; one sister, Shelvia A. (Mike) Koontz of Cordele; sister-in-law, Carolyn Allen Ford of Warner Robins; numerous nephews and nieces; and two aunts, Dovie West and Christine Allen. Timothy Allen, Allen Coleman, Kenneth Oliver, Jeffery Morton, Keith Allen, and Kris Kennedy will serve as pallbearers. Joel Cauley, Harold Alligood, Doyle Dixon, John Digby, Clarence Crawford, and Clay Slaughter will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
