Sara Jean Allen, age 76 of Dexter, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Serenity Place in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Lowery and Rev. Mike Peacock will officiate. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from Mohawk after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Kennedy and Ruby Myers Kennedy, a son, Charles Larry Allen, brothers, Danny Kennedy and Ray Kennedy. Sara was survived by her husband Charles Allen, sons, Bobby Gene Allen and Michael David Allen (Judy) all of Dexter, grandchildren, Landon Hodges, Casey Semple, Cole Hodges, Nicole Eberling, Bridgett Allen, sister, Elta Jo Warnock and 2 great grandchildren. Jason Allen, Richie Allen, Kevin Allen, Cole Hodges, Lee Edge and Chuck Edge will serve as pallbearers.
