Sara Frances Baker, age 80, of East Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Baker was born in Columbus, GA, on November 14, 1936 to the late Frank Hampton Haines and the late Gladys Edwards Evans. She retired from the Laurens County Board of Education, where she worked as a paraprofessional. Sara was a very active member and supporter of the East Laurens Community and loved to spend her Saturdays cheering on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. She was of the Methodist faith and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hodge Baker. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Baker Watson (Dale), of East Dublin; son, Donnie Baker (Rhonda), of East Dublin; grandchildren, Katie Watson McMullan (Austin), of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jake Watson (Brooke), Zach Baker, and Emma Kate Baker, all of East Dublin; great-grandchildren, Kaden Watson, Catelyn McMullan, and Gavin McMullan, all of Colorado Springs, CO and Jenna Lee Watson, of East Dublin. Services for Mrs. Baker will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Larry Waldrep and Rev. Tommy Veal will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until funeral hour on Saturday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jake Watson, Zach Baker, Kaden Watson, Wayne Hilbun, Steve Difazio, and Joel Watson. The family would like to thank Dr. Deeves, Dr. Christian, Dr. Zahn, and Dr. Gonzalez, and the staff of Serenity Hospice for the tender care of their mother. The family will be gathering at the home of Donnie and Rhonda Baker.
