Services for Shannon Brooks, age 32 of Dublin, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Olivet Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Giddens and Rev. Jody Martin will officiate. Mr. Brooks was a graduate of the West Laurens High School Class of 1999. He was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He loved to fish and spending time with family and friends. Shannon was employed with Big Green Sign Co. and previously as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Anthony Brooks and grandparents, Leroy and Ruth Brooks and Eugene Allen. Mr. Brooks passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2013. Survivors include his mother, Donna Allen (Glenn) Yawn of Dublin; sisters, Tracie (Toby) Martin of Rentz and Morgan (Michael) Hobbs of Dexter; grandmother, Dorothy Crabb of Dublin; niece, Brittany Rowland; nephews, Justin Rowland, Kayson Martin, Devin Hobbs and Caleb Hobbs and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be John Sellars, James Lamb, Paul Brooks, Stevie Brooks, Nathan Slater and Harold Sawyer. Absentee Honorary will be Richie Carrier. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
