Services for Silas James Locke, age 84, of Dublin, will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, September 12, 2016, at Dudley Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Myles Johnston, Mr. Ronnie Locke, Rev. Brad Poucher, and Rev. Larry Little will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, September 11 at Dudley Baptist Church. Mr. Locke died Saturday, September 10, 2016.

Mr. Locke was a member of Dudley Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Locke operated Locke's Amoco Service Station for over ten years. He enjoyed his family and was a proud flag flyer.

Mr. Locke was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Julia Purvis Locke; brother, Bill Locke; sisters, Emily Grimes, and Mary Bond; brother-in-law, Ed Bond; and sister-in-law, Mary Katrina Locke.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Locke, of Dublin; children, Janice (David) Ballard, of Dudley, Ronnie Locke, Kenny (Lisa) Kight, Bobby Locke, Emily Locke, Sheila O'Neal, all of Dublin, Angie (Stacy) Evans, of Albany, Julie (Doug) Floyd, of Jeffersonville, Jason (Amanda) Locke, of Dudley; grandchildren, Beth (Jason) Martin, Matt (Kelly) Ballard, Andy Ballard, Brooks Locke, Whitt Locke, Savannah Locke, Lacee Locke, Heidi Locke, Nichole O'Neal, Jared O'Neal, Abby (West) Pierce, Ethan (Amanda) Evans, Isaac Evans, Olivia Evans, Amelia Evans, Emery Evans, Iva Evans, Owen Evans, Atticus Evans, Jacob Floyd, Chance Floyd, Eli Floyd, Jackson Locke, and Ellie Locke; great grandchildren, Caroline and Wade Martin, Natalie Ballard, Jolee Hudson, and Ionie Nell Pierce; brothers and sisters, Judy (Ralph) Jones, Eddie (Abby) Locke, Joel (Karen) Locke, Jimmy (Gay) Grimes, Jane Bridges, and Karen (David) Price; and sister-in-law, Rosalyn Locke.

Mr. Locke's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters.
