Stanley Ralton
Register
Jun 27, 1951 — Aug 24, 2026
Stanley Ralton Register, known simply as Stanley, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Canon, Georgia, at the age of 75.
Born on June 27, 1951, in Dublin, Georgia, Stanley lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep love for the things that brought him joy. He was the son of the late James Ralton and Jimmie Nell Register, and he carried forward the values of dedication, integrity, and perseverance that were instilled in him from an early age.
Stanley spent many years building a respected career in automotive collision repair. He owned Register's Body Shop on Highway 19 for 30 years alongside his father, James Ralton Register, before closing the shop to become a full-time automotive collision instructor. He later served as an Automotive Collision Repair Instructor with Central Georgia Technical College, where he retired in 2020. Through his work in both the shop and the classroom, Stanley shared his knowledge generously and helped shape the careers of countless students and colleagues. He was known for his practical wisdom and the pride he took in teaching others the skills of a trade he deeply respected.
Stanley was also a man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures and memorable moments. He was an enthusiastic auto racing fan, especially of NASCAR, and he spent many Saturday nights at dirt tracks, with 441 Speedway in Dublin holding a special place in his heart. He thoroughly enjoyed technology and was an early adopter of satellite television. He also installed a surround sound system in his home that often rattled the wood paneling while blasting "Top Gun" and other blockbuster action movies from the 1980s and 1990s. He had a special appreciation for antique jukeboxes and kept a Rock-Ola jukebox in the dining room for many years, where his children and guests often gathered to enjoy music during visits.
Family was central to Stanley's life, and he cherished the people closest to him. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Register; his sons, Eric Register of Dublin, Georgia, Brandon Register and his wife Erin of Canon, Georgia, Kevin Register and his wife Crystal of Lake Stevens, Washington, and Adam Register and his wife Lindsey of Flowery Branch, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Claire Conner, Josh Register, Junior Register, Max Register, Miles Register, Sam Register, and Baker Register. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember his kindness, humor, and steady presence.
Stanley will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous spirit, a love for teaching, and a lifelong appreciation for family, music, racing, and the many comforts of home. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Britt Ginn will officiate.
