Stephen Wayne Hester was born on June 12, 1959, and passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016. Steve was a resident of Dublin, GA, at the time of his death, but was born and raised in Minter, GA. Steve graduated from East Laurens High School in 1977 with many beloved friends. He served six years in the United States Navy and received a communications degree. His most recent employer was Vernay Manufacturing Inc., in Griffin, GA. Steve is survived by his father, Tommy Wayne Hester; stepmother, Zell Hester; mother, Gloria Ann Branch; sister, Cynthia (Cindi) Hester; brother, Dr. Jason Hester; and his wife, Ginger Hester; a nephew, Stephen Jason Hester; a niece, Corinne Elsie Hester; two grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Curtis Moorman and Ora Clarice Moorman, his paternal grandparents, Stephen Broxton Hester and Bessie Lee Hester and his stepfather, Tony Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org/Donate. Visitation for Steve will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Minter Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in the Minter Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jason Patterson will officiate.
