Services for Pastor Stephen Kyzer, age 67 of East Dublin, will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Charles Kyzer and Evg. Chasten Parson will officiate. He passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Pastor Kyzer was an Alumnus of UGA and former member of Gideons International. He was the Pastor of Central Drive Baptist Church and Centerville Baptist Church. He was a retired principal and educator with the Laurens Co. Board of Education working with WLMS, ELMS, NWLE and ELHS. Pastor Kyzer also enjoyed coaching and was an avid UGA Bulldogs Fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leo and Reba Garnto Kyzer and a daughter, Cynthia Renee Kyzer. Survivors include his wife, Edna Kyzer of East Dublin; son, Jason Clarke Kyzer and his wife Shelley of East Dublin; granddaughter, Chelsey Welch of East Dublin; brother, Charles Kyzer and his wife, Judy of Sandersville and sister, Linda Scott and her husband, Hal of Wrightsville and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Pallbearers will be Wayne Johnson, Tony Screws, Charles Kyzer III, Matt Scott, Dr. William Rowe, Woodrow Billups and Tim Shepherd. Honorary pallbearers will be the women and men of Central Drive Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
