Steve Gregory Newsome, age 48, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Steve was a native of Laurens County and he enjoyed farming and carpentry work. He loved talking, working with animals, and cooking. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family. Steve was a current member of Olivet Baptist Church and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church throughout his childhood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Newsome, and grandson, Aiden Newsome.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Newsome; children, Damian Newsome (Brittany), Brianna Newsome (Michael Stanfield), Trinity Newsome, Jacob Newsome, Sabine Newsome, and Sadie Newsome; step-sons, Daniel Roland and Nicholas Roland; step-daughter, Makayla Milligan; grandchildren, Michael Stanfield, Jr., Cairo Newsome, Isaac Newsome; mother, Mary Bright (Clarence); brother, Chad Bright (Kristy); sister, Holly Carey (Anthony), and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20 ^th , at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Roy Rehberg will officiate.
