Susan J. Thomas, age 60 of Dudley, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Pastor Paul Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00AM until funeral hour. Susan was born in Laurens County to the late Quinton A. and Ethel Lee Hall Johnson. She worked as a receptionist at Dublin OBGYN for many years. She was an inspiration and joy to her patients as well as to her friends and family. To know Susan, was to love her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Benny F. Thomas of Dudley; son, Anthony Thomas of Dudley; grandchildren, Steven Thomas, Joshua Thomas and Rebecca Thomas all of Dudley; brothers, Leon (Nell) Johnson, Quincy (Susie) Johnson and Edward (Wanda) Johnson all of East Dublin and Robert (Jill) Johnson of Montrose; sister, Elene (Glenn) Williams of East Dublin; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Patsy) Thomas of Milledgeville; sisters-in-law, Lokella (Jimmy) Schell of Dudley and Ann Thomas of Douglasville and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, David Perry, Brad Thomas, Robert Harrison, Kenny Tomlinson and Chilor Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Dublin OBGYN.
