Thelma L. Melton, age 81, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Minister Larry Stewart and Minister Johnnie Scaggs will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mitch Melton, Joe Blackburn, David Foster, Les Foster, Freddie Blackshear and Skip Hendricks. Mrs. Melton was a member of Bellevue Road Church of Christ for 58 years. She was a graduate of Talbotton High School and a retail sales clerk before becoming disabled. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Claxton Melton; parents, Bland and Alice Dale Scott; grandson, Christopher Scott Horton; sisters, Nina Crawford and Nellie Norrell and brothers, Buddy Scott, Author Bland Scott, Garnett Scott and Perry Scott. Survivors include her sons, John Herman Richardson of Dublin, Mark Mitchell Melton (Dannelle) of East Dublin, Larry Joseph Richardson (Elizabeth Ann Mahoney) of Bonaire; daughter, Faye Oliver (Garry) of Dublin; grandchildren, Josh Glaser (Nicole), Mitch Melton (Kristina), Ashley Chafin (Josh), Lacey Landcaster (Joe) and Deanna K. Oliver; great-grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Glaser, Abbey Melton, Emma Claire Chafin, Ethan Chafin, and Anna Kate Chafin; brother, Billy Scott of Columbus and a host of nieces and nephews.
