Thomas Russell "Rusty" Carter, 38, of East Dublin, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends on June 14th, 2014. Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Michelle Carter and his two children, Shelby Carter (16) and Chandler Carter (9). His immediate family members include his father, Ronnie Carter of E. Dublin; mother, Belinda Thomas of Thomasville; sister, Niki Carter of Pelham, and brother, Ryan (Ashley) Carter of Panama City, Fl. Other close relatives include Charles & Elsie Muns of E. Dublin. Rusty is the grandson of the late W.E. "Buddy" & Annette Carter and Fred & Ester Thomas. Born in Albany, GA on October 3, 1975, Rusty left a lasting impression on whomever he met. His larger than life presence was felt anytime he walked into a room, captivating everyone's attention with wild and ridiculous stories. His hobbies included golf, hunting, racing, and "cutting up" with the boys. Rusty was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, UGA football, and Atlanta Braves baseball. However, Rusty's greatest enjoyment came when he was sharing moments and making new memories with his good family and friends. Visitation will be held at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services celebrating Rusty's wonderful life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Graham Memorial Church of Nazarene (112 Graham Rd., East Dublin).
