Thomas Leland Donaldson November 6, 1923 - August 17, 2011

Services for Thomas "Jabo" Leland Donaldson, age 87, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Minter Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jerry Martin and Rev. Ben Edwards will officiate. Mr. Donaldson was a lifelong resident of Laurens County and was a retired farmer. He was an active member of Minter Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Song Leader and Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of the Gideon's International, East Laurens Farm Bureau and a former member of the Board of Directors for Farm Bureau. He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie J. Donaldson and mother, Rebecca Johnson Donaldson; four brothers, Clifford, Truman, Tullie and Thad, and three sisters Zilphia, Myrtice and Katherine. Mr. Donaldson passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. He is survived his wife, Ruby "Totsie" Kennedy Donaldson of Dublin; daughter, Kay Donaldson of Dublin; two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Donaldson and Aldine Donaldson; brother, Ray Spivey and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sam Williams, Roger Smith, Condell Carter, Earl Farmer, Billy Lasster, Carneage Young, Glenn Williams and Charlie Bush. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Stewart, Cessum Young, Preston Young, Ullis Foskey, Don Johnson, James Meeks, Dr. Hugh Johnson, Robert & Lisa Stevenson, Ellie J. Young, Judson Watson, Jr. and Doyle Mimbs. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
