Obituary

Thomas Cuen Kight was born on November 19, 1928 in Adrian, Georgia. He attended Adrian High School where he played basketball and earned his life-long nick-name, Lefty. In 1946, following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army spending most of his time in Germany as a tank commander. In 1951, he returned to Adrian where he met Jackie Davidson. The year 1952 saw their marriage and a year later the couple gave birth to their only child, a daughter, Diane. Lefty spent the duration of his career working in Dublin, eventually retiring from Roche Farm and Garden in 1992. Lefty loved his Georgia Bulldogs and his Braves. The latter bringing home a win the night he passed, which was Saturday, April 1, 2017. Lefty is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Diane and Thomas Naughton of Smyrna; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Keely and Matthew Ogburn of Marietta. The visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Northview Cemetery.
