Tora Godbee Carmichael, age 44 of Swainsboro, formerly of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 2, 2015 in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Myron Wise will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Carmichael was a graduate of Dublin High School and worked as an accountant with Wilson Trucking and YKK. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dublin. She was preceded in death by her father, Brantley Godbee; step-brother, Jeffrey Christian, and grandfather, Asbury Meeks. She is survived by her husband, Jason Carmichael of Swainsboro; son, Brandon Hanson of Dublin; mother, Jane Meeks Christian and step-father, Glenn Christian of Dublin; mother and father-in-law, Billy and Linda Carmichael of Swainsboro; grandson, Carson Hanson of Dublin; sisters, Tonya Godbee Powell (Stevie Stapleton), Toshia Godbee and Teresa (Tim) Graham, all of Dublin; grandmother, Irene Meeks of Rockledge; nieces, Brandi Nichole Godbee of Swainsboro and Brittany Soles of Dublin; step-sons, Cody and Kyle Carmichael, both of Swainsboro sisters-in-law, Chandra (Tracy) Hooks and Heather Carmichael; brothers-in-law, Doug Carmichael and Seth Hodges, and several great-nieces and nephews.
