Services for T.W. McCoy, Sr., age 90 of East Dublin will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of East Dublin. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ronnie Powell and Rev. Jack Sapp will officiate. Mr. McCoy was a resident of Laurens County for 70 years. He was a member of East Dublin Baptist Church and worked for J.P. Stevens for many years. Mr. McCoy served on the East Dublin City Council and had numerous business interests in Laurens County. He loved all his family and will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Hamilton Tepper McCoy; mother, Clifford Edenfield McCoy; wife, Essie Edenfield McCoy; daughter, Shirley Spivey and two grandchildren, Jeff Barrs and Kevin Rogers. He passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Fairview Park Hospital. Survivors include a son, T.W. McCoy, Jr. of East Dublin; two daughters, Martha Crozier of East Dublin and Carolyn Lee of Dublin; eight grandchildren; Greg Carter, Stephanie Crozier Foskey, Richie Mullis, Scott Oliver, Regina Horne, Glenn Diers, Kim McCoy Conley and Cindy McCoy Sharp and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. They may also be contacted at his residence.
