Graveside Services for Tyler Raine Gillis, age 17, of East Dublin, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Pulliam will officiate. Mr. Gillis attended East Laurens High School but was a 2011 graduate of Fort Gordon Military Academy. He was employed with SLT. Tyler enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was hanging out with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kristin Gillis and his grandmother, Linda Reed. Mr. Gillis passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Survivors include his father, Danny Gillis (Charlotte Powell), of East Dublin; mother, Bobbie Jo Parr (Tracy Warnock), of East Dublin; brother, Wayne Reed, of East Dublin; sister, April Parr, of East Dublin; two step-brothers, Allen Daniels and Lee Powell, both of East Dublin; grandparents, Larry Reed (Peggy) of Jeffersonville, Tony Reid (Lynn) of Dublin and Roy Gillis (Pam) of East Dublin; aunt, Daphney Aills (Bobby) of East Dublin; uncles, Dewayne Gillis (Ann) and Keith Gillis (Marcy Jones) both of East Dublin and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Eric Roland, Harry Shinholster, Jr., Brian Hollis, T.J. Hall, Trae Clark, Dewayne Gillis and Wayne Reed. The family may be contacted at 872 Old Savannah Road in East Dublin. They will receive friends Saturday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
