Services for Vangela Shiver, age 69 of McIntyre, will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, November 2, 2014, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Thigpen Cemetery. Rev. Cole Morris will officiate. Mrs. Shiver was born in Treutlen County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton Chance and Esta Spivey Chance, her husband Billy Shiver, and granddaughter, Jessie Marie Shiver, brother, Larry Chance. Vangela was a member of the Rockledge United Methodist Church, was an avid fisherwoman, and NASCAR fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved her grandchildren and flowers. Special thanks to Serenity Hospice for the care she received. She is survived by her sons, Keith (Darlene Shiver) of Dublin, Michael Shiver of East Dublin, stepchildren, Becky Hines of Tennille, Angie (Randy) Peacock of Gray, Clay Garnto of Dublin, grandchildren, Jordan Shiver, T. J. Garnto, Kelli Shiver, Cheyenne Hubbard, Jarrett Hines, Emilee Garnto, Logan Hines, Johnathan Shiver, Katherine Christopher, Ashley Caldwell, Lauren Caldwell, great grandchildren, Emily Christopher, Bayleigh Shiver, Benjamin Shiver, sister, Ellen Sterling, companion of 32 years, Danny Garnto, caretaker, Melanie Allen and lifelong friend, Glenda Mickler. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
