Biography Services for Verdie Mae Rowland, age 93, of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Union Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Mertz will officiate. She passed away on August 3, 2012. Mrs. Rowland was the daughter of the late Elijah and Ida Miller Glover. She became a member of Union Baptist Church in October 1948. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sirmon Thomas Rowland and a son, Jimmy Rowland. Survivors include a daughter, Susanne (David) Andel of Perry; two grandsons, Doug (Vicki) Wechsler of Bonaire and Sean (Katie) Andel of Perry; two granddaughters, Neisha Allan of Dublin and Nicole Calhoun of Dublin; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Union Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
