A graveside service for Vickie Shepard Caneega, age 77, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville.  Rev. Jody Martin will officiate.  Mrs. Caneega died Wednesday, August 26, 2020, after an extended illness.

Vickie was a native of Laurens County and graduated from Laurens High in Rentz in 1960.  Vickie's love was cutting hair.  She grew up cutting her dolls' hair and her cat's whiskers.  She later realized her dream of becoming a hairdresser and owning her own salon.  She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, talking, and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Caneega was preceded in death by her parents, Willard J. "Buddy" and Gladys Register Shepard, and brother, Bennie Shepard.  She was of the Baptist faith and a retired hairdresser.  Mrs. Caneega was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Andy Caneega, of Dublin; children, Terri (Trent) Howard, of Dublin, Ty M. (Angela) Garnto, of Jacksonville, FL, Craig (Tracie) Garnto, of San Antonio, TX, Sean (Johanna) Garnto, of Augusta; step-children, Dawn Hubbard, of Wrightsville,  Buddy (Amy) Caneega, of Wrightsville,  Marty (Lacey) Caneega, of Dublin; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis (Roy) Popovich-Procter, of Enterprise, AL, Jean (Ephraim) Turner, of Dublin, Tommy (Debra) Shepard, of Dublin.
