Services for Virginia B. Brooks, age 71 of Dublin, will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. W. L. Currie will officiate. Mrs. Brooks was born in Laurens County. She was a homemaker, and loved her family, cooking and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sammy Brown and Annie Howell Brown, her husband, Thomas "Jerry" Brooks, Sr., brothers, Charus Brown, Sammy Brown Jr., sister Willa Dean Self. Survivors include her children, Thomas J. Brooks, Jr., of Dublin, Lisa J. (Rowe) Dimmen of Bennettsville, SC, Regina (Keith) Oliver, of Glenwood, grandchildren, Nikki (Robbie) Harden, Ryan (Danee`) Brooks, Matt (Ashley) Dimmen, Troy (Ashlie) Dimmen, Meghan Oliver, Whitney Oliver, 11 great grandchildren, sisters, Lynette McCoy of East Dublin, Linda Neil of Atlanta, Diane Brown of Atlanta, several nieces and nephews. Greg Sellers, Kevin Spires, Paul Brooks, Stevie Brooks, Franklin Stinson and Robbie Harden will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Thomas Brooks, and will receive friends Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
