Services for Wade Franklin Knight, Sr., age 76, of Dublin, will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Rockwell Baptist Church in Milan, GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ike Branch will officiate. He passed away on August 14, 2012. Mr. Knight was a member of the First Baptist Church of East Dublin. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Bassett Furniture Company in 2000. He lived most of his life in Dublin and was an avid guitar player. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Genettie Gay Knight, son, John Gregory Thomas and brother, Eddie Knight. Survivors include his wife, Jane Knight of Dublin; children, Maria K. (Mike) Davis of Clinton, SC, Frank (Lisa) Knight and Darren (Anna Maria) Knight both of Sumter, SC, Janice (Michael) Tyson of East Dublin, Nelda (Charles) Paul of Wrightsville and David Mimbs of Dublin; grandchildren, Nikki Snelgrove, Brandon Bond, Benjamin Knight, DJ Knight, McKenzie Knight, Tiffany Whitaker, Joey Thomas, Sierra Burke, Adam Tyson, Austin Tyson, Ace Phillips, Jonathan Thomas, Joshua Gregory Thomas, Jon Gatlin Thomas, and Layla Paul; great-grandchildren, Micah Snelgrove, Christopher Knight, Peyton Whitaker, Jaxten Thomas and Keagan Wilkes; brothers, Dorsey (Faye) Knight of Centerville, Isaac (Becky) Knight of Helfin, AL, Donald Knight of Waycross, Larry Knight of Nashville, TN; sisters, Carolyn (Bobby) Beck of Byron, Annette Harrell of Rhine and Marilyn (Lewis) Foskey of East Dublin and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Terry Knight, Sam Knight, Lewis Foskey, Larry Echols, Robbie Knight and Michael Guinn. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. They may also be contacted at the home of Lewis and Marilyn Foskey.
