Services for Walter Sylvester Knight, Jr., of Dublin will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Dublin with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Rick Mitchell and Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. Mr. Knight was the son of the late Walter Sylvester Knight Sr., and the late Mary Register Knight. He graduated from Middle Georgia College and Georgia Southern University with degrees in criminal justice. Mr. Knight was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is the retired Georgia State Patrol Past Commander of Dublin Post #20. He died Friday, December 17, 2010. He is survived by his wife- Juliet of Dublin, a son Rodney (Carmen) Knight of Virginia Beach, VA, a daughter, Amber (Paul) Donnell of Dublin, a son Rob (Monica) Guynn of Morgan Hill, CA, granddaughters, Erin Knight of Ivey, Lilly Donnell of Dublin and Leeda Knight of Virginia Beach, VA, a grandson, Mark Walter Donnell of Dublin, sisters, Eloise Hudson of Dublin and Alice Mullis of Cadwell. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, December 19 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
