Services for Wendell Earl Moore, age 84 of Dublin will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jay Moore, Rev. Sid Davidson and Rev. Phil Tondee will officiate. Mr. Moore was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. He was retired from J.P. Stevens/Forstmann after 46 years. He was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, the Laurens County Sportsmen Club and for more than 50 years a member of Laurens Lodge # 75 F&AM. He died Thursday, June 2, 2011 after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamons and Lois Clark Moore, sisters Blondell Scoggins and Cindy Moore and a brother Kendell Moore.Mr. Moore was a hardworking and caring father and grandfather. He loved his large family and having lots of people over to eat. He enjoyed going to many suppers with close friends especially if there was a fish fry involved. He loved to eat them, but enjoyed cooking them even more. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Betty Coleman Moore of Dublin, his children, Kendell & Zula Moore, Ricky & Phyllis Moore, Jeff & Kim Moore, Katrina & Don Miller, grandchildren, Jennifer & Sid Davidson, Julie & Anthony Angulo, Richard & Leigh Moore, Nikki & Stephen Perry, Lisa & Mark Warnock, Cassidee Moore, Phillip Moore, Cole Moore, Ben Miller, Brooke Miller, great grandchildren, AJ, Jared and Joshua Davidson, Adan Angulo, Brendan and Allie Moore, Dawson Stinson, Kaden and Teegan Passmore, Alayna, Jayda and Stepahnie Perry, Austin Sharp, Noah, Marli, and Gavin Warnock, brothers, Clark & Marianne Moore, H. M. & Joann Moore, sisters, Polly Clark, Evelyn & Billy Ussery, and Telva Chafin .Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family may be contacted at their home 1006 Springdale Road, Dublin. Visitation will be held at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
